Clinical Assessment Services
SELDOC delivers 24/7 Clinical Assessment Services.
During the first year of the COVID pandemic we provided a 24/7 COVID CAS for South West London, managing 3,000–4,000 patient cases/month. We went on to become the lead provider of a pan-London Overflow CAS (LOCAS) working with other providers to manage c2,500 patient calls per month.
All cases transferred to us have urgent dispositions i.e. patients needing to be contacted within 2 hours, across all five London ICS regions.
Using a consult and complete model, we deliver what the patient needs through a single interaction wherever possible. We manage all primary care presentations and conclude the majority of cases on the telephone and by video call. We provide patients with advice which addresses their concerns and we signpost to self-help information where this is appropriate.
We support other providers in the local system with advice to healthcare professionals and by supporting the London Ambulance Service.
Our systems are connected to the NHS Spine enabling us to use services such as Electronic Prescribing Service, the Child Protection Information Service, Summary Care Record and the Personal Demographic Service.
Our Clinical Assessment Services are GP led and we have over 100 clinicians across all our services. Within our Clinical Assessment Services, all our clinicians are prescribers.
SELDOC work as an ICS system partner. We work with many other local partners to ensure that patient journeys are 'joined up'. Partners include:
