Celebrating 30 Yers of SELDOC!
Three decades of trusted, accountable healthcare in South London
Published April 2026
This April, SELDOC celebrates a truly remarkable milestone — 30 years of delivering trusted healthcare services across South London. Since our doors opened in 1996 as a GP cooperative, we have grown into a comprehensive NHS healthcare provider serving communities across South East and South West London, with an unwavering commitment to safety, reliability, and accountability.
Our evolving service landscape
Today, SELDOC's services span four core areas, enabling us to care for approximately 4,000 patients every single week:
Out-of-Hours Primary Care
Urgent care when GP practices are closed, ensuring continuity of safe,
accessible primary care.
NHS 111 Clinical Assessment
Telephone triage and clinical advice, directing patients to the
appropriate care setting.
King's Urgent Treatment Centre
Partnership with King's College Hospital providing rapid access to
urgent care without attendances at A&E.
London Ambulance Service Support
Clinical support to the London Ambulance Service, enhancing
response capacity across the capital.
Three decades of adaptation and resilience
Three decades have brought enormous change to the NHS landscape, and SELDOC has adapted and evolved at every turn. From taking on new contracts and expanding into new services and boroughs, to responding rapidly to challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to our patients and the communities we serve.
Founded: 1996 as a GP-led cooperative
Evolution: Grown from a single service to a multi-faceted NHS healthcare provider
Reach: Operating across South East and South West London
Throughout this journey, our core values have remained constant: accountability to patients and commissioners, reliability in service delivery, and an uncompromising commitment to safety.
Performance and accountability
Quality delivered with accountability
Over the last decade of digitally recorded performance metrics, SELDOC has maintained an average KPI achievement of 85%, demonstrating our consistent commitment to service standards and clinical quality.
This track record reflects our dedication to accountability — not just to our patients, but to the NHS commissioners, stakeholders, and the South London communities we serve.
These metrics represent more than numbers; they reflect our daily commitment to answering calls promptly, assessing patients fairly, directing care appropriately, and supporting colleagues across partner organisations to deliver the best possible outcomes.
