Who we are:

South East London Doctors Co-operative (SELDOC) is a well-regarded GP co-operative, established in 1996, providing unscheduled and out-of-hospital primary care GP services in South London across 7 CCG areas. The organisation is clinically led. We continuously strive to achieve excellence in the quality of care we provide to our patient populations and the value we offer to commissioners. We reinvest any surpluses back into patient care.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking to recruit Call Handlers for our out of hours call centre based in Dulwich.

This role is in a busy, patient focused environment, managing calls from members of the public who require advice or treatment for urgent/emergency health problems outside of surgery opening hours.

Call handlers will be expected to receive calls from patients and dispatch them to our dedicated clinical team as well as liaising with other medical professionals. You will be required to speak to members of the public who may, sometimes, be in a distressed state so a calm approach is essential.

We want to hear from you if you are/have:

  • A good communicator with an excellent telephone manner
  • Able to work calmly and under pressure
  • Good organisational and administration skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Computer literate including in MS Office packages
  • Keen to learn new skills and develop in the role

The role will entail working evening, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays

How to apply:

To apply please send your CV and covering letter to Seldoc.recruitment@nhs.net  .

For further details and the Job Description & Person Specification please contact our HR Team 0208 6191250.

The closing date for applications is 11th October 2017 at 23:59.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview shortly thereafter.

Successful candidates will be required to attend training sessions as part of the process.  This will be offered over a period of 3 afternoons.

Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to everyone, so if you don’t hear from us by within four weeks of the closing date, please assume that your application has not been successful on this occasion.
