Equality & Diversity
“SELDOC is committed to providing out-of-hours and primary care services to the populations it serves, irrespective of age, colour, culture, disability, ethnic or national origin, gender, lifestyle, marital or parental status, race, religion or beliefs, gender, sexual orientation or social or economic status.”
SELDOC Patient Promise
The SELDOC team is a true reflection of the communities we serve and actively promotes equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
It is no coincidence that a recent Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) report demonstrated that SELDOC fulfilled the expectation that the Board was ‘broadly representative of the population they serve’ with a 50/50 split between white and black and minority ethnic members. SELDOC conduct mandatory training for staff on equality and diversity and operate a dignity at work scheme as part of our zero tolerance approach to bullying and harassment.
Call handlers are provided with additional training to deal with people with communication or learning disabilities. We are also constantly striving for equal employment outcomes for all staff and potential recruits.
