We aim to make our community a better place
SELDOC is a community based co-operative. We exist for the good of the people in the areas we serve. As well as contributing to the health of our patients, we are involved in a huge range of community organisations and events. One such example is Athletic Football Club (AFC) Lewisham who we began to sponsor in July 2015.
AFC Lewisham is a relatively new community based club situated in Lewisham borough heading now into its fifth season. It was formed in May 2012 with just one team at the U15 level and has grown to include the U17, U13, U12, U10, U9 and U8.
AFC Lewisham regards itself as a value based grassroots football club committed to the development of coaches and players of all ages and ability. It participates in Sunday youth football leagues providing opportunities for local children to participate in sport. Its goal is to encourage a passion for the game using a wide variety of coaching techniques. AFC Lewisham believes it can help local kids develop socially, emotionally and physically through the common love of football.
SELDOC was introduced to AFC Lewisham at the formation of the U7 squad which has since progressed over the year to become the Under 9 team this season. The SELDOC sponsorship assisted in the creation of this U7 team, a new age group to the club, by providing training gear, team kits and tracksuits. As a result, even though all team levels within AFC Lewisham wear the SELDOC logo, the U7 team (now the U9) has a particularly strong allegiance to SELDOC and is regarded as the SELDOC squad.
